Madre Tierra

(2020) Student project.
Branding, conceptualization, & packaging design.

——————

Madre Tierra is a high end organic skincare brand for the modern woman, specifically young women in Monterrey, Nuevo León. The inspiration behind Madre Tierra’s branding and packaging was the similarities between a woman’s skin and Earth’s landscapes. The feminine body is a reflection of the Earth. Raw, pure, and powerful. The brand’s abstract textures were created with photographs of the woman’s body that resemble the Earth’s landscapes and organic shapes.

Process
The development of the branding and packaging started with a brief for a high end skincare brand in Monterrey, Nuevo León. I started with the benchmark where I analyzed different national and international skincare brands, to get to know the competition and differentiate the brand. I later defined the concept, name, logotype, typography, created the patterns, and created the box templates. I printed and built a prototype before this final prototype was created.

Challenges
The biggest challenge was creating this project during the coronavirus pandemic, mainly because I had to print and look for material when printing and material shops had limited schedules due to lockdown, another challenge were the time constraints, since I had 3 weeks to develop the whole project.
